The Somerwood Hiking Sticks and Trekking Poles weigh approx 350gms (12 oz), and each one has all the features you would want in a walking pole.

You adjust the hiking stick according to the conditions . . .

The design of each hiking stick allows you to respond to your walking environment. Depending on the conditions, you can choose between:

  • the 4-pointed high strength alloy tip, set in a tough plastic shaft, that bites well on ice and turf
  • a rubber cap - with a knobbly tread pattern - that fits over the tip for use on hard surfaces, such as roads and rocks
  • a detachable 65mm basket which screws on to the threaded plastic of the pole's tip section - preventing the pole from sinking too far into snow or very soft earth.
